The Future of Print Media
I think that print media is a great way of spreading the news, entertainment, and sports and has worked very effectively in the past. With the improvement of technology over the years, things are not looking good for magazines and newspapers. Print media is already being made available to people through the internet and mostly for free so there is no reason for people to actually go to the store and use their money on something they could get a hold of within seconds at home from their computer. Some people, myself included, like to have a tangible object to carry around and read, and not have to worry about being near an outlet 24/7 to recharge your laptop or tablet. It looks like those people and I are going to have to either figure out another solution to this problem ourselves or conform to the world around us by permanently being attached to technology.

The Importance of the Consumer Decision Process
Understanding the consumer decision
process is very important in advertising no matter what step the consumer is in
during the process. For example, advertising activates the consumer’s need that
they have to fulfill, which is the first, or problem recognition stage. During
the information search stage, advertising shows the consumer the information
about how to solve their problem. The next stage, evaluation of alternatives
shows the consumer the different brands or options they have to solve their
problem. I believe these three steps are the most important in advertising
because it leads up to where and who the consumer is going to buy the product
from. If a company advertises their product often and provides thorough
information as well as make their advertisements memorable, as long as the consumer liked the product, I believe that the
consumer will always think to buy their products to solve any of their needs.

Superbowl commercials
After watching and talking about the superbowl in class I realize just how important it is for companies to utilize their resources through the superbowl commercials. Whether a company is trying to promote a new product or gain recognition for an old product, having so many viewers at once is worth the $3.3 million it costs for the commercial spot. That money will be made up in no time throughout the year, especially if it is a bigger company like Anheuser-Busch or Coca Cola.
On the other hand, if you think about how much money companies spend on one 30 second slot makes you wonder how has it come to this. When the superbowl first started, no one watched the superbowl for the commercials; they watched it for the sake of football. Now people that don't even like football watch the superbowl every year only for commercials even though when they watch regular television, all they want to do is get away from the commercials. The question I think about is, what caused this to happen and when did this change occur?
